The sun danced in and out behind cloud as I was shown the house and grounds, creating the most beautiful light throughout the rooms and spaces of the 18th-century Georgian mansion and family home—an almost ethereal light that fills any wedding photographer in Scotland with joy.

Since the days of The 5th Earl of Rosebery, Prime Minister Archibald Primrose, Rosebery House has been a Primrose family holiday home and a much-loved haven for socialising, something that is evident in the calm, warm atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Even when empty, it has a feeling of character and charm that emanate from the very fabric of its walls. A welcoming home in which, for generations, friends and family have gathered to enjoy good food, company and the surrounding countryside—an ideal setting for those seeking a home-from-home exclusive use wedding venue near Edinburgh, Scotland.

Rosebery Steading’s accommodation is within the estate and a very short distance from the house itself.

The house also has beautiful private bedrooms which, although not available for overnight use, serve as an ideal space to prepare for the day, change outfits or retouch hair and make-up during the celebrations.
